Wyndell Lamont Cunningham of Rhome, Texas, died June 14, 2016, at the age of 79. A memorial service will be held in July at the First United Methodist Church, Commerce, with Dr. Tommy Brummet and Rev. David Shawver officiating.
Wyndell Lamont Cunningham was born April 23, 1937, in Texarkana, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lillian Cunningham of Texarkana, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Gentry Cunningham; two daughters, Natalie Shein Muskovitz and husband David of Park City Utah, and Margaret and husband Bryan Clintsman of Southlake, Texas; three grandchildren, Sarah Lillian Shein of Salt Lake City, Utah, Graham Shein of Park City, Utah, and Cody Lowe of Southlake; and many nephews, nieces, great-nieces and nephews. He also had five siblings, Joe Cunningham (deceased), Grover Cunningham, (deceased), Larry Cunningham, Beth Coats and husband Jeff, and Dee Marshall.
Lamont retired from the US Army in 1961. He retired from Unisys Corporation as a computer project manager in 1992. He loved gardening and was named the Texas Master Gardener of Small Gardens in 2008. He was also given the Texas Master Gardener Emeritus in 2011 from the AgriLife Extension, Texas A&M System. He served in many positions for the United Methodist Church over the years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Texas.
