Funeral services for Sammie Minier, 64, of Seminole and formerly of Commerce, will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Boyer Funeral Home in Seminole with Tony Pitcox officiating.
Mr. Minier was born Dec. 24, 1950, in Carrizozo, N.M., to Virginia (Small) and Dan Minier. He had worked as a professor of psychology at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas, and as a counselor at Texas A&M in Commerce. He had also been an athletic trainer at both West Texas State University and Canyon High School in Canyon. Additionally, he had taught physical education at Indiana State University. Sammie was a great storyteller, and in his spare time he enjoyed playing bridge and raising cattle. He truly lived life to the fullest; and he loved his family dearly, especially his dog named Bulldog, whom he considered a part of his family.
Sammie Minier passed away at his home in Seminole on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three brothers, Ron Minier and wife Paula of Seminole, Donnie Minier of Spring, and John Minier of Aurora, Colo.; and one sister, Kathy Henthorn and husband Robert of Amarillo.
