Neva Nell Moore, 90, of Commerce passed away peacefully Thursday, July 20, 2017.
She was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Fairlie, Texas, the daughter of James Zeb Guthrie and Minnie Lee Adams. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1945. She enjoyed playing basketball while in high school.
Nell was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers as well.
Nell is survived by her sons, James White, Joe Kervin and John Kervin; her grandchildren, Katina Huie and husband Lex, Morgan White and wife Sarah, Clifton Kervin and wife Kristen, and Mack White; and her great-grandchildren, Ethen Arnold, Laken Arnold, Saigley Huie, Porter Huie, Stella White, Kinsler Kervin and Cecilia Kervin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Minnie Guthrie; her brother, Jay Guthrie; and her sister, Thera Guthrie.
A graveside service was held at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie on July 21 under the direction of Commerce Funeral Home.
Serving as honorary pallbearers for Nell were Mack White, Morgan White, Ethen Arnold, Laken Arnold, Porter Huie, Clifton Jock Kervin and Kinsler Jay Kervin.
