DENTON — Mary Ernestine Hill, 80, of Denton passed away Aug. 23, 2014, in Plano.
She was born Aug. 26, 1933, to Ernest and Aletha Boofer Scott in Commerce. She graduated from Commerce High School and later married Claude Hill in Commerce on Sept. 4, 1955.
She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the First Baptist Church in Denton and one of 15 children.
She is survived by her son, Scott Hill of Ponder; a daughter, Leslie Hill Oveson of Ponder; grandchildren Justin Palpant, Jessica Hill and Shelby Hill; four sisters and five brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hill; her parents, Ernest and Aletha Scott; four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were officiated by Rev. Eddy Meek Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
Memorials may be made at Young Life and Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of Mary E. Hill.
