Lena Vaughan Cooper — this is not the end, but the beginning of a new life for her with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Born July 6, 1918, to Jessie and Hattie May, she was one of 16 children born to this union. She passed away June 20, 2011.
Survivors are her daughters, Beverly Moore (Gary) and Charlsie Smith; grandchildren Daron Moore (Terri), Brian Moore (Allison) and Dawn Williams (Joe); seven great-grandchildren, Craig, Jack, Kaysie, Amory, Meghan, Shelly and Hailey; and sisters Fay Montgomery and Betty Connatser.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Charlie Vaughan, Frank Stevenson and Glen Cooper; and siblings Robert, Weldon, Alton, Clyde, Argie, Leon, Chester, Hubert, Arvie, Irene, Evelyn, Bud and Ruth.
Visitation was June 22, one hour prior to the service at 2 p.m. at Axe Memorial United Methodist Church in Garland. Internment was in Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce under the direction of Williams Funeral Directors of Garland.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to the Axe Church or a charity of choice.
