Josephine Coughenour

Joesphine Antonette Coughenour, 64, of Springfield, died Dec. 25. 2010, at her home.
The daughter of Josephine Antonette Blake and John Theodore Blake, she was born July 20, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif. She married Kay LaVern Coughenour in Rubidoux, Calif., on Oct. 17, 1969. She was proud to be a homemaker and mother to four daughters. She earned a B.A. degree from East Texas State University, and was employed at the serials department of the James G. Gee Library at Texas A&M University - Commerce (formerly East Texas State University). She was an active member of the Democratic election process in Hunt County, acting for many years as an election judge. She was a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine director with St. Joseph’s parish in Commerce and was later an active member of St. Clare in Sulphur Springs. Since moving to Oregon, she has been active with the 55-plus group and volunteering at St. Alice parish in Springfield, where she was welcomed immediately as part of the church family.
Mrs. Coughenour is survived by her daughters, Katrina King, Rosanne Harrott and husband Robert, Amy Coughenour, and Sara Sexton and husband Rodney; grandchildren Erika Michele Sexton and Thomas Kay Harrott; and sisters, Stephanie Paula Blake and Patricia Marie Snow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kay LaVern Coughenour, Dec. 16, 2004; her sister, Michele Maureen Carlile, Nov. 14, 2004 ; her mother, Josephine Antonette Blake, Oct. 14, 1991, and her father, John Theodore Blake, Aug. 20, 1982.
