Jonathan “Jon” Thomas Lanmon, 59, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011 in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sagamore Baptist Church, 2301 Dottie Lynn Parkway, Fort Worth with Pastor Johnny Castor and Pastor Chris Blakley officiating. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Jon was born on Aug. 19, 1952 in Birmingham, AL to James Monroe Lanmon and Virginia May Mehaffey Lanmon. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1970 and attended Eastfield College. Jon served in the U.S. Navy. A resident of Fort Worth for the past 25 years, he was an active member of Sagamore Baptist Church and worked the sound system.
He retired from Electro Acoustics in Fort Worth as a sound, lighting and video contractor. Jon enjoyed computers, architecture, and old homes and buildings.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Brothers, James Monroe Lanmon Jr. and Benjamin Herbert Lanmon; sister, Maynona Louise Clemons and husband, Jerry; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
