Jose “Joe” Druda, 92, of Greenville passed away Dec. 12, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Father Marcus Chidozie officiating. Visitation will be Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Druda was born Aug. 23 1919 in Mexico City, Mexico, to Francisco and Thomasina Hernandez Druda. After his father passed away, he was raised by his stepfather, Jose Mendosa. He married Nancy Scott on June 4, 1955, in Woodstock, Ill. He worked as a greeter at Walmart in Commerce and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Commerce.
Mr. Druda is survived by his wife; a son, Jason Druda of North Dakota; daughters Linda Boyd of Bruceton, Tenn., Shirley Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy Martinez of Chicago, Ill., and Debra Boyd and Joann Sanchez of Greenville; brother Fabion of Mexico; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
