Gary Lynn Patrick, 51, of Campbell, passed away in the early morning hours of May 19, 2011, at the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
Gary was born in Commerce on Jan. 30, 1960, to Jack Donald and Susie Nadine (Mobley) Patrick; they preceded him in death. He worked all his life as a truck driver, but never really considered it work. His free spirit was perfect for the trucker known as “Stroker.” In his free time, Gary could be found hunting pigs or being outdoors, but his greatest joys came from being a loyal and dedicated family man and friend to those he knew and loved. He loved Jesus and recently was attending the Cross Power Church in Campbell. “Uncle Giddy” leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will not soon be forgotten.
Gary is survived by his life partner and companion, Kay Lowery of Campbell; brothers Ellis Benton Patrick of Commerce and Harry Patrick and wife Amy of Cooper; a sister, Linda Holley and husband Howard of Greenville; sons John Christopher Lowery and Michael Dee Lowery, both of Campbell; grandchildren Taylor Dee Ann, Tara Brooke, John Christopher II (Jace), and Lillian Rose Marie; aunts Rosie Lee Mobley and Barbara Jean Mobley, both of Commerce; his best friend, Doug Waller of Greenville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gary was also preceded in death by brothers Jack Donald Patrick Jr. and Kenneth Donald Patrick.
A memorial service for Gary Patrick will be held at 3 p.m., May 28, at the Cross Power Church in Campbell with his brother, Harry Patrick, officiating.
Arrangements are by Peters Funeral Home of Greenville.
