A funeral service for Doyle Gene Coffman, 68, of Point, Texas, was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel in Sulphur Springs with Bro. Roy Burpo officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Interment followed at Emblem Cemetery with Kevin Coffman, Carl Coffman, Tony Coffman, Kirk Coffman, David Smart, and Jesse Coffman serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Britt Coffman and Randy Davis.
Doyle passed away Jan. 12, 2016. at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
He was born March 25, 1947, in Emblem, Texas, the son of Amos Coffman and Opal Redman Coffman. He was a truck driver for many years and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, De-Ann Ames and husband Kirk of Athens, grandchildren Leon and Kirtis Ames of Athens; stepson David Smart of Dodd City and wife Mayanin; stepgrandchild Sarah Smart; sisters Myrtle Rogers of Como, Susie Littrell of Sulphur Springs, Bennie Wisdom of Rolla, Mo., and Pat Murray of Sulphur Springs; brothers David Coffman of Dodd City and Truitt Coffman of Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Coffman.
