Daisy Fay Johnston, 81, of Commerce passed away Dec. 23, 2010, at Hunt Regional Medical Center.
Services were at 2 p.m. Dec. 28 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 27 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnston was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Emblem to Thadys K. and Virgie M. Boren Miller. On June 30, 1951, she married James Edward Johnston in Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Commerce.
Her survivors include her sons, Michael Johnston and wife Karen of Wolfe City and Rickey Johnston and wife Kelly of Commerce; daughters Pamela Johnston of Lewisville and Cheryl Van Zandt of Commerce; grandchildren, Chris Johnston and wife Lori, Curtis Johnston, Shane Harzke, Colten Gregory, Emily Johnston Bishop and husband Brant and Ryan Steffee; two great-grandsons, Chance Brown and Justin Bishop; sisters, Bernita Highsmith of Richland Hills and Katie Ione Briggs and husband Paul of Mesquite; special niece Shirley Weihman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Mary L. Wilson, and brother Robert Garvin Miller.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chris Johnston, Curtis Johnston, Shane Harzke, Colten Gregory, Brant Bishop and Ryan Steffee.
