Billie Joyce Joyner, 78, of Ladonia died March 26, 2011, in Commerce. Services were at First United Methodist Church in Ladonia at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Carolyn Allbritten officiating. Burial followed in Ladonia Cemetery under the direction of R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.
Pallbearers were Dan Davenport, Richie Terry, David Duncan, Daryl Duncan, Doug Franklin and Mark Conley.
She was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Ladonia to Albert and Eva Jeanette Norton Duncan. She married Robert “Bob” R. Joyner on July 5 1955, in Ladonia; they were married 54 years. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2009. Mrs. Joyner retired as a school teacher from the Ladonia Independent School District. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ladonia.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Bob Denton; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jeanette Duncan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
