Martha “Bernice” Gilbreath, 71, of Commerce passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 in a Tyler hospital.
Bernice was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Wood County to Edd Crump and Ruth Crump. On June 29, 1983, she married Sam Gilbreath in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was a dress shop owner and homemaker.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charlie Glass; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Gilbreath; two sons, Gary Adams and Charles “Bubba” Gilbreath, both of Commerce; her daughters, Dana and husband Josh Ferrell of Sulphur Springs, Stacie and husband Chad Hebert of Vidor, and Becky Glass of Commerce; her brother, Ed and wife Betty Crump of Honey Grove; her four grandsons, Steven Glass, C.J. Glass, Billy Don Glass and Adam Hermann; her granddaughter, Tisha Glass; and six great-grandsons, Landon Heston, Austin, Alex, Dakota and Austin; and two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Brittany.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Oliver Mowat of the Cross Trails Cowboy Church officiating. Interment will follow at Horton Cemetery.
