Ann Fisher Berry, 76, died Dec. 28, 2015, at Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville.
She was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Dallas.
Ann lived in Commerce until late in high school when she moved to Dallas with her parents and graduated from Crozier Tech High School. While in Dallas she met her husband, Gerald Berry; they married in 1957. They lived in Mesquite for 45 years and raised three children. Before her husband’s retirement they moved to Ann’s beloved Commerce.
While in Mesquite Ann was active in PTA, serving as president of several different organizations, as well as holding other positions. She was an active member of Casa View Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes, headed a drama and puppet ministry, and worked on one of the church’s JOY buses. For a few years she worked as an assistant to a school counselor in DISD.
Ann leaves behind a host of family who will dearly miss her — her loving husband of 58 years, Gerald Berry of Commerce; daughter Wendy Cantrell and husband Ed of Snyder, Texas; son Tracy Berry and wife Leslie of Mesquite; daughter Carolyn Berry and husband Todd McNeal of Mesquite; grandchildren Hayley Barron and husband Michael, Nicolas Cantrell and wife Kimberly, Valene Hanson and husband Brad, Deanna Lopez and husband Ramiro, and Kevin Berry and fiancée Angela Coats; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Allen, and her father, Herman Fisher.
Her funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville and Altus hospice for the love and care Ann received during her stay with them.
