Marie Houston, 62, of Commerce died Jan. 2, 2016, at her home. Funeral services are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Commerce. Interment will follow at New Home Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home of Paris, Texas.
Linda Darlene Evans, 58, of Commerce passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, in Dallas. Her funeral service was Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home with Pastor Jeanette Harris officiating. Interment followed at Rosemound Cemetery.
Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 1 at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1957, in Commerce, the daughter of Melvin Perkins and Francis Duncan Perkins. Darlene grew up in Commerce, attending Commerce High School. She then attended East Texas State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She married Kim Evans on Nov. 19, 1994, in Commerce. They enjoyed 21 happy years together.
Darlene filled her free time with shopping and attending church. She attended Living Word Church in Commerce.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Kim; her son, Jay Vann; her grandchildren, Justin Vann, Mya Vann, and Danielle Vann; her brother, Michael Perkins and wife Debbie; sister-in-law Patsy Evans; and aunts Della Feay White, Betty Shelton, and Billie Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Francis Perkins.
Serving as pallbearers for Darlene were Leven Pendergrass, Preston McDaniel, Marty Martinez, Joseph McDaniel, R.J. Nanny, and Chris Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, Justin Vann, Mya Vann, and Danielle Vann.
